Haiti earthquake

Haiti, one of the poorest and most underdeveloped countries in the world, was struck by a 7.0 magnitude earthquake on January 12, at 16:53 local time. The earthquake was followed by twelve aftershocks which were all greater than magnitude 5.0. Since Haiti was poor to begin with, the damages wrought by the earthquake were enormous. Many people lost their loved ones. An estimated three million people were affected by the earthquake. 230 000 people are dead, an estimated 300 000 people are injured, and an estimated 1000 000 are homeless. Many countries responded by sending aid in the form of funds and rescue teams. There are also many countries raising funds or offering land to help Haiti recover. Despite all these efforts, it would certainly still take a few years for Haiti to recover from this catastrophe, so I urge you to do whatever you can to help Haiti, like donating money.

The whole family is delighted. Then, the narrator and Doodle starts telling stories to each other. The narrator's stories were pointless but Doodle expresses his wants through his stories. The following paragraphs are of the training programme that the narrator had set up for Doodle and the scarlet ibis arriving. Language arts online lesson

Dear Miss Kinnian,
Talk to Charlie and try to convince him to come out of his room. If it really doesn't work, get another close friend to talk to him. When he finally comes out of his room and consents to speak to you, talk to him about his problem.Try to motivate him and make him realize that it is not good for him to keep locking himself and his problems away. Instead, he should try to face his problems bravely and deal effectively with them. At this crucial moment, you should not leave him. Instead, as a friend, you should stay by him and support him. You should also motivate him by occasionally praising him on how well he is doing and coping with his problems. If he ever feels like giving up, help him by suggesting possible solutions. Try to help him to adapt to his new situation. Make a list of the things he wants to do and after completing a goal, cancel it. After completing his goals, bring him out to relax before he starts on another new goal. Also help him to start socializing and make more friends. Try not to upset him as he is emotionally dependent on you and others around him. Your comments are very important to him. When Charlie is no longer dependent on you, he would have become a completely different person from what he was originally. He would have friends and can cope with his troubles effectively.Good luck to you.
